Joe S. McEuen

March 23, 1941 ~ Nov. 9, 2012

Memorial Services for Joe S. McEuen, 71, of Norman will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 North Rockwell, Oklahoma City, with Tim Pool officiating.

Joe S. McEuen was born March 23, 1941 in McAlester, the son of Archie McEuen and Joe Anna [Sterling] McEuen. He died suddenly on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 of a heart attack

. Joe grew up in McAlester. He graduated from McAlester High School in 1959 and then attended the University Of Oklahoma, graduating with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lu, on April 9, 1960 in Sherman, Texas.

Joe liked everyone he met, and loved his family and friends with all his heart. He had a very special relationship with his business partners and he loved to work. He started a number of successful businesses, including Sterling Pipe and Supply Company. He visited China many times including a visit as part of the Oklahoma Governor's International Team. He was active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a member of the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering Board of Visitors.

He was preceded in death by both parents, and five brothers & sisters. Survivors include his devoted wife of 52 years Mary Lu and his two wonderful sons and daughter-in-laws: Joe Jr. and Mary Beth McEuen of St. Louis, Missouri, and Paul McEuen and Susan Wiser of Ithaca, New York. His loving grandchildren are: Joe McEuen III, Tena Frank and husband Matt, Missy Wohldmann and husband Andy, all of St. Louis, Missouri; Great grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, Hannah, Luke Joseph and Alix along with six grand-dogs. He had very special friends Bobby and Jacklynn Haynes, many nieces, nephews and special cousins, especially Theta. He had a deep relationship with his stepmother, Margaret and her sons: David, Lonnie, and Dennis and their families.

Donations may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes or to New Covenant Christian Church.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home, Chickasha, Oklahoma.
