Homer Vestal "Jack" McElmurry U.S.A.F. CMSgt/Ret

Interment: Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA, Fri., August 28, 12:30 p.m.

Born in Rocky, OK to Owen and Ophelia McElmurry, Homer "Jack" grew up to 6' 6" in Dill City, OK, excelled in sports and graduated Valedictorian with his brother John Philman as Salutatorian. With his crystal blue eyes and corny retorts he set out into the world and began a career in the service of his country.

He was a 32-year military veteran. He served in the army in WW II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. While stationed in Hawaii, he met Emily Naehu on a blind date. They were married and he became dad to her children and together they had 3 more.

He chose Sacramento, CA as his place of retirement. There he completed the raising of his children and celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife Emily.

After retiring from the military he worked for the Corps of Engineers when he met Bonita Anderson. They married and he became dad to her two girls and raised her grandson. At the time of his death they had been married for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Ophelia McElmurry, his wife, Emily, brother, John Philman (Josephine) McElmurry and sister, Ona (Stan) Keas.

He is survived by Emily's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Katherine (Charles) Dudoit, Victor & Natalie (Kanoa, Kiana) Dudoit, Charles Jr. & Phyllis (Corinne, Sonny, Kaleo) Dudoit, Lorilei & Todd Kramer, Lorilei's children: Arian (Kelson, Ariana) and Kamo, Vanessa Dudoit, Maybelle & Ronald Grawey ( NaLani (Mykiele) Grawey, Phillip & Katie (Lauren, Davis) Grawey, Joseph Grawey), Linda & Michael Baerresen, Linda's children: Jason & Erika (Marissa, Vanessa, Ikaika) Schulte, Meisha Climo, Beau & Edwina (Manaia, Matai) Climo, James & Teresa McElmurry, James' child: James & Alana (James, Eliana) McElmurry, Phillip McElmurry, Jean & Ludwig Tomasini (Jaime & Adam Knight have one on the way). His nieces and nephew are, Peggy (Carl) Shafer, Kathy (John) Wright, and Michael (Lynn) McElmurry. His wife, Bonita, and her children Donise (Robbie) Weyeneth, Debbie (Mike) Ott, and their families.
