Pam McDowell, 54 year old Mooreland resident, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Mooreland High School Gymnasium with Mark Collins officiating. A private family burial will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Woodward on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pamela Sue (Hayter) McDowell was born on December 14, 1966 in the Waynoka Memorial Hospital in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Gary Franklin and Delores Lee (Whitney) Hayter. She grew up in the Mooreland area and graduated from Mooreland High School. Pam continued her education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Business Education Degree. On September 8, 1990, she married the love of her life, Brent McDowell at the Hayter Family Home. The couple made their first home in Mooreland, and have lived there since that time.
Pam worked as the store manager at the Corner Store in Mooreland. She also worked at Mooreland Public Schools for several years and also worked in banking. Her greatest joy in life was her boys, Ethan and Tyler and her dogs, Hooey and Slack. Pam also enjoyed listening to audio books, movies, shopping, spending time with her family, taking vacations, and playing cards. She always attended her Tuesday night card games with her friends, and all of the sporting activities with the kids.
She is survived by her husband Brent McDowell of the home; parents, Gary and Dody Hayter of Mooreland; sons, Ethan McDowell and wife Brandi of Mooreland, Tyler McDowell and wife Sierra of Mooreland; sister, Kim Burk and husband Mike of Mooreland; one very special cousin Edi Burnet; other relatives and many friends.
Pam was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roger and Edith Whitney, and Merle and Chic Hayter and her in laws, Bid and Leona McDowell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland Public Schools with Billings Funeral Home accepting the contributions.
