Mary Anne McDougal, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at her home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in the Woodward Church of Christ with James Bailey officiating.
Mary Anne (Reynolds) Paulk McDougal was born on July 8, 1948 in Lowell, Massachusetts to Joseph and Helen Elizabeth (Cameron) Reynolds. Mary Anne grew up in Massachusetts until she was ten years old and then the family moved to Texas. She graduated from Dalhart High School in Dalhart, Texas and later attended nursing school in Amarillo, Texas. Mary Anne was united in marriage to Thomas McDougal on June 5, 1981 in Booker, Texas. They made their home in Perryton, Texas until 1984 when they moved to Woodward. They have made their home in Woodward since that time.
Mary Anne was a Registered Nurse in California, Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. She worked at the Woodward Hospital for 26 years.
She was a member of the Woodward Church of Christ. Mary Anne loved doing crafts, making beautiful embossed cards to give to friends and family, making gift baskets, flower arrangements and porcelain dolls. She loved nursing, her daughter, her grandchildren and her pets: she was and avid animal lover.
She is survived by her husband Thomas McDougal of Woodward; one daughter Lisa Palmer Houston and her husband Stephen of Enid; three grandchildren, Logan Reid Palmer, Jaden Michael Palmer and Lauren Dean-Marie Houston; sister, Beth Paulk of Temple, Texas; nieces, Andrea Paulk and her son Josh; Jennifer Lewis and husband Steven and children; nephew, Adam Paulk and wife Jodi and their children; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Reynolds, her father Joe Reynolds, son-in-law, Jeremy Palmer and her aunts, Mirium Tidwell and Harriet Van Horne.
Mary Anne was a Nurse for 45 years, a Beloved Meme to her grandchildren, a beloved sister and aunt and an animal lover who will be missed by all that knew her.
