Dorothy Elizabeth (Boaen) McDaniel, of Durant, passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born on October 16, 1930, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Walter and Virgie Elizabeth (Sneed) Boaen. She married Marvin McDaniel, Jr on June 4, 1954, in Durant, Oklahoma.
Dorothy retired from teaching, after many years of dedication to education. She had a great love for her family, and especially her grandchildren. Dorothy loved the Christmas holidays, spending time with her family.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son Alan McDaniel and wife Cindy of Durant, and her daughter-in-law Carol McDaniel of Durant. Her legacy will be carried on by her grandchildren including Erin McDaniel, Lesly McDaniel, Megan Dickson and husband Ryan, and Zak McDaniel, as well as her great-grandchildren Myles and Audrey Dickson. She is also survived by her niece Diane Self and Scotty, as well as Janista Wood.
Preceding her in death are her parents Walter and Virgie Boaen, her husband Marvin, son Todd McDaniel, sister Nita Rambo, brother Gerald Boaen, and three nieces Donna Taylor, Dorothy Lynn Morton, and Debbie DeSandre.
A private service was recently held to celebrate Dorothy’s life.
