Carol Frances (McGuire) McDaniel

Carol Frances (McGuire) McDaniel
May 19, 1948 ~ May 4, 2021

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Carol Frances McDaniel of Edmond, Oklahoma, began a new and beautiful life in the glory of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born Carol Frances McGuire in Mooreland, Oklahoma, on May 19, 1948, to Ralph and Lela McGuire. She attended school in Laverne, Oklahoma, and was part of the Laverne graduating Class of 1966. After attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, for two and a half years, Carol married Ralph Michael McDaniel on February 8, 1969. Carol went on to be a wife, mother, and career woman. She worked as an accountant for several oil and gas companies over the years before retiring from Devon Energy.

Carol was preceded in death by her father Ralph, mother Lela, and brother Floyd. She is survived by her spouse of 52 years, Mike, and their children - Kimberly Dawn Gunn and spouse Robert, Kristy Denise Johnson, Bret Keith McDaniel and spouse Stacy, and Tod Michael McDaniel and spouse Victoria. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren - Shawna Michelle Lee, Billy Michael Lee, Gregg Michael Johnson, Travis Alan Johnson, Ethan Cooper McDaniel, Ainsleigh Ann McDaniel, Keira Bryn McDaniel, Rileigh Carolan McDaniel, and Linleigh Victoria McDaniel - and four great-grandchildren - Hailey Alexis Johnson, Hayden Olivia Johnson, Scout Everly Johnson, and Willow Eleanor Johnson. She is also survived by her brother Harold McGuire and spouse Judy, her sister-in-law Mary Marquardt, and her cherished sister-in-law and sister-in-heart Esther McGuire.

Carol was a treasured mother and grandmother. Her family will miss her natural joy and happiness. They will remember her baking monster cookies, banana bread, and chocolate sheet cake. They will hold dear those recipes that she shared. They will smile when they think of her sense of style and love of fun colors. They will keep close the fun times on vacation in the mountains and at the beach. They will remember phone chats and lunches. They will cherish the banter over college football and basketball games. They will miss the quiet moments of backrubs and storytelling. She was loved and will be missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29th, 2021, at Crawford Funeral Home on 178th Street in Edmond, Oklahoma, at 2 o'clock p.m. All are welcome to join in this fellowship as we celebrate and remember Carol's life.
