Elsie Pearl (Johnston) McCracken

November 13, 1922 ~ February 16, 2008

Surrounded by the family she dearly loved and who dearly loved her, Elsie Pearl McCracken of Choctaw, OK left this earthly life for her heavenly one on Feb. 16, 2008. Elsie was born on the family homestead in Choctaw, On Nov. 13, 1922 to Otho and Verna Johnston and lived most of her life in Choctaw.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 51 and a half years, Emmanuel McCracken, and two brothers Robert Johnston and Paul Johnston.

She is survived by two children: son Walter McCracken & wife Pat, and daughter Darlene Cravey & husband Glenn all of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by four granddaughters: Kelli Kidd & husband Don, Holly Howard & husband Mike, Angie Dotson & fiance' Ronnie Osborne, and Amanda Whitaker & husband Scott. Her greatest joys were her eight great grandchildren: Ryan, Aaron, Hannah, Kylie, Tessa, Zoe, Hayden, and Halle. She is also survived and will be lovingly remembered by her Brother L.G. Johnston of Choctaw, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was an active participant in putting together information for the Choctaw, OK Museum Of History. Elsie was very active in many capacities at the First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park, OK with her parents being charter members.
