Memorial services for Larry Dude McClure, 69, of Fairview, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Fairview Arts & Education Center with Chuck Temple and Bill David Walker officiating.
Larry Dude McClure was born February 25, 1954, at Hobart, Oklahoma to Billy and Mary Vaunita (Teel) McClure. He departed this life on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at his home in rural Longdale, Oklahoma.
Larry graduated with the class of 1972 at Fairview High School. He married Kathy Ashby on July 31, 1982, at Cordell, Oklahoma. Larry was a mechanic for many years at Eischen Chevrolet and retired after 30 years of service there. Larry was an outdoorsman and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and anything where he could work with his hands. He tended a huge garden every summer and always kept a manicured lawn. He spent many years in the mowing business at Lake Texoma and in Fairview. Larry was a faithful member of the Church of Christ throughout his life and served as a song leader, Bible class teacher, led prayers, served communion, and cared for the property. Larry helped countless people in his life with many projects and never took the credit.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Don Dees; and grandson Jace Keeton; He is survived by his wife Kathy of the home; daughter Kourtney Keeton and husband Nathan of Fairview, Oklahoma and son Ryan McClure and wife Caitlin of Norman, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Kenneth Ashby of Canton, Oklahoma; grandchildren Lilly Keeton, Adley Keeton, Hartleigh McClure, Emmry Keeton, Cooper McClure, Ivvey Keeton and Davis McClure; and many extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Humanity Hospice with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737.
