Bobby Ronald McClendon, age 87, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026.
Bobby was born on September 24, 1938, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Ivron E. McClendon and Lola Mae (Morgan) McClendon. He attended Wilson Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1956 before going on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
He married the love of his life, Shirley Beth McClendon, on August 22, 1959. Their marriage was filled with years of love, laughter, and shared memories.
Bobby proudly served his country after being drafted into the United States Army. He completed basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado, and was later stationed in Germany during his time of service.
Bobby was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed knife making and woodworking, and he had a passion for traveling and exploring new places. Known as the life of the party, Bobby had a smile that could light up a room and a personality that drew people to him wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivron E. and Lola Mae McClendon; his brother, Danny Otis McClendon; his niece, Belinda Ann McClendon; and his nephew, Steve Shores.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Beth McClendon of the home; his brother, Ivron Royce McClendon Sr. and wife Shirley Ann of Overbrook; his sister, Barbara Brown of Ardmore; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Ronnie Patrick, Danny Wells, and Waylon Alexander, who shared many memories and adventures with him over the years.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to hospice nurses Markita, Angie, and Cindy for the compassion and comfort they provided during Bobby’s final days.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service Madill, Oklahoma.
