Jerry Frank McCarver passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 81 on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was ready to join his lifelong love, Leota, in Heaven.
Jerry was born in Slaton, Texas on March 24, 1940, the son of James William McCarver and Verna Lee Crossland. After graduating from Milburn High School, he married the love of his life, Leota Lea DeBock on July 1, 1958.
He and his wife of 61 years built a life at Lake Texoma, where they managed and owned marinas throughout the years, including Willow Springs, Catfish Bay and Soldier Creek resorts. In addition to enjoying time at the lake, Jerry shared with his wife a love of golf, fishing, and hunting. He loved animals, particularly Maggie, their dog. He made a habit of watching the "Big Bang Theory" every evening and didn't appreciate distractions during the "Price is Right" game show.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Leota and brother, Billy (Bill) Robert McCarver.
Those he leaves to cherish him and memories of times spent with him include daughters, Jo Anna Cooper and Danny Bokies of Kingston and Sheri Hutchins and husband Stephen of Marietta; grandchildren, Angie Cooper of Gordonville, Texas, Jennifer Gray and husband Gary of Vernon, Texas, Kory Atcuson of Seattle, Katie Hampton and T.J. Norman of Broken Arrow, and Jon Hutchins and wife Sarah of Skiatook; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Bo McCarver and partner Karin; and sister, Martha Moore.
