David Galt McCarty

David Galt McCarty, age 50, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away on May 1, 2020, in Guthrie. David was born on August 22, 1969, in Oklahoma City to Michael G. and RuAnna L. (Kastner) McCarty.

David graduated from Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colorado, in 1987. He attended Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado and the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado. On September 7, 1991, he married Karlene Killian in Denver, Colorado. Of this union, two children were born, Connor and Corrine.

David worked in the marketing industry as an independent contractor. Some of David's favorite things included bushcraft, mustang horses, shooting sports, the beach and ocean, cooking, reading, and music.

David is survived by his wife Karlene McCarty, children, Connor McCarty of Guthrie and Corrine McCarty of Yukon, his parents, Michael and RuAnna McCarty of Wellston, siblings John McCarty and wife Amber of Broken Arrow, Taylor McCarty and wife Nicholle of Tampa, Florida, and JuliAnna Brown and husband Steve of Wellston, and mother-in-law, Judy Killian. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irwin and Meg McCarty, Arthur and Hazel Kastner, and father-in-law Ed Killian.

A private family service will be held. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
