Clarence Jefferson "Corky" McCain passed away at his home in Midwest City, OK. He was born January 17, 1929 to James Oscar McCain and Effie Mae (Lovelace) McCain in Red Oak, OK.
He enjoyed fishing and skiing with his children and grandchildren on Lake Texoma. He was owner of Smith Hardware in Midwest City for over 20 years.
Corky was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Kathleen June Bryant-McCain; his son Terry Lynn "Bear" McCain; his parents James and Effie McCain; his brothers, Orville "John" McCain, James Paul "Man" McCain; sisters, Jewel Mae Lake-Davidson, Juanita Belle Meloy and 2 grandsons, Kevin Patrick Kennedy, and Jeffery Clark Kennedy; and great grandson Terry Lynn McCain-Garas.
Corky is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sue McCain- Kennedy- Fendley and her husband William F. Fendley of Hockley, TX; grandchildren, Phillip Bryan Kennedy and wife Jodi Renee Kennedy of Spring, TX, SSgt Samuel Neal Kennedy and wife SFC Kimberly Kennedy of Ft. Knox, KY; Zachary Ryan McCain and wife Danielle C. McCain of Midwest City, OK, Amber Renee McCain-Scovill of Norman, OK; 6 great grandchildren, Ethan Grant Kennedy, Aiden Michael Kennedy, Jordan M. Kennedy, Devon Rae Kennedy and her mother, Yohanna Wiese, Anthony Thomas Scovill, Jasmine Lynn Scovill; sister and brother-in-law LaFern Carol Bryant-Barnes and Joe B. Barnes of Midwest City, OK and brother-in-law Ray Macy Hardin of Midwest City.
Clarence was a 32 degree Perpetual Endowed member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonary, Valley of Guthrie Orient of OK. On Sept. 19, 2011 he attained the high honor of Scottish Rite Mason for 50 years.
Our family would like to send a special heart felt thank you to his home health care givers, his niece Charlotte McCain- Click of Tulsa, OK; Judy Rodgers of Spencer, OK and grandson "Bo" Welty . I would also like to thank Midwest City Home Health Care for their excellent care they gave both my parents over the last several years. I would also like to thank his nurses Rob, Larissa, Linda, Kathy & Lisa from Quality Hospice Care. It is comforting to know there are still quality people that actually care about their patients and treat them with love, affection & expert care. Thank you to those serving as casket bearer"s Zachary McCain; Phillip Kennedy; Bill Fendley; Anthony Scovill; and Jim Click. And, a special thanks to Barnes Friederich Funeral Home for their extra special care for both of my parents. Thank you with all my heart, Pamela McCain-Fendley and Family.
