Sidney McBroom age 75 of Rosedale, passed away on September 23, 2023 in Seiling, OK. Sidney Glenn McBroom was born to Fred McBroom and Zelma McBroom (Koehn) on August 4, 1948 in Enid, OK. Sidney’s family called several places home as he grew up, but they returned to Enid where he attended high school and graduated with the Plainsmen Class of 1966. Sidney met Faye Eileen Jantz through a mutual friend, they were soon married, and shared life together for 47 years. Sidney worked various jobs over the years including roofing, janitorial work, and mechanic work. Later in life he spent many years working for the late L. Dee Oliphant. Sidney enjoyed helping around the Oliphant property gardening, performing general maintenance and upkeep, as well as raising sheep, border collies, and keeping bees. In his spare time Sidney loved to fish, and tinkered on lawn mowers and small engines for friends and neighbors. He was a beloved husband, friend, and neighbor who will be dearly missed.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Zelma McBroom, one infant son Anthony McBroom, and an infant brother Alfred McBroom.
He is survived by his wife Faye McBroom of the home. His step children, Delbert Jantz of Norman, OK, Benjiman Stewart of Rosedale, OK, and Melissa Paescal of Richardson, TX. His siblings Vernon McBroom of Maude, OK, Fred McBroom of Waukomis, OK, Tommy McBroom of Enid, OK, Connie Potter of Jacksonville, FL, Beverly Cling of Perry, OK, Charlene Murdy, or Tuttle, OK, and Phyllis Brently of Enid, OK. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service for Sidney at a later time when they can all be together to share memories and remember his life.
