Clifton Howard “Cliff” McAuley
October 29, 1930 ~ April 6, 2014

Clifton “Cliff” Howard McAuley, 83, of Norman passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Clifton and Eleanor (Marino) McAuley on October 29, 1930 and married Evelyn (Morton) on May 30, 1950.

Cliff’s more than 35 year work career was with Westinghouse in Boston, Massachusetts and Staunton, Virginia and then with York in Norman. His avocation though was his woodworking. He took immense satisfaction in this craft and made sure everyone close to him had at least one of his handmade specialties. Cliff had a great sense of humor and an engaging smile. Life to him was enjoying each and every day.

He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn of 58 years; and two brothers and a sister. Cliff is survived by his sister, Judy Chesley; his three brothers, Bill, Ken and Frank; his five children: daughter, Donna Hendren and her husband Marty of California, son, Cliff McAuley and his wife Diana of Ohio, daughter, Debbie Kenney and her husband Tim of Norman, son, Jim McAuley and his wife Suzanne of Norman, son, Mark McAuley and his wife Cindy of California; his 18 grandchildren: Whitney Hendren, Taylor Vencill and husband Bryan, Cliff McAuley, Rosie McAuley, Jim McAuley and fiancé Cayce, Chris McAuley, Leslie Barrack, Tim Kenney and wife Mindy, William Kenney, Kathleen Miller and husband Jason, Suzanne Kenney and fiancé Lance , Coleman McAuley, Mark McAuley, Jr. and fiancé Kyra, Nicole McAuley, Taylor McAuley, Montana Borth, Preston McAuley, and Aspen McAuley; and his eight great grandchildren: Jennifer Barrack, Patrick Barrack, Josalyn Johnson, Jayden McAuley, Josh Johnson, Zachary Kenney, Owen Kenney, and Harper McAuley.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Cliff will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. Thomas More University Parish in Norman.

Memorials may be made in memory of Clifton Howard McAuley to St. Thomas More University Parish, 100 E. Stinson Street, Norman, OK 73072 for the Louise Kay Educational Center.

Arrangements for Cliff and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
