Ann M. Mayo age 75 of Wayne passed away unexpectedly, Monday, July 7, 2014 at Purcell Municipal Hospital. She was born February 21, 1939 in Stonewall, OK. She was the oldest of five children born to Bruce and Gussie McGuire. Ann grew up in Ada, Oklahoma and attended Ada schools. She married Gene Claunch in 1958 and together they raised four children, Kathy, Jimmy, Wayne and Danny. Ann was a wonderful mother and worked hard to provide for her family. For most of her life she worked in the health care industry in the surrounding communities. She lived in Purcell for many years before moving to Wayne where she lived with her son, Danny. Ann was later married to Lloyd Mayo. Because of her failing health, Ann stayed at home in her later years and enjoyed watching TV and being with her family.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Bruce and Gussie McGuire; One son, Wayne Keith Claunch; Two brothers, Clyde and David McGurie; One sister, Mary Marcum;
She is survived by: One daughter, Kathy Walker of Wayne; Two sons, Jimmy Don Claunch and fianc� Donna Piper of OKC, Danny J. Claunch of Wayne; One sister, Wanda Folger and husband Jerry of Ada; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren Many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
