MAYNARD - Billy Ray Maynard, 86, of Midwest City, died 20 February 2009. Bill was born 31 January 1923 in Lone Wolf, OK. to Fowler and Emily Maynord.
Bill was inducted into the U.S. Army on 9 April 1943 and was discharged 4 February 1946.
Bill was a proud 1950 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Business.
Bill and Wilma L. Sampler were united in marriage 25 November 1950 until her death in May 2008.
Bill was an accountant at Chickasha Cotton Oil and Earnest Nichols Accounting Firm in Chickasha, OK. In 1962 Bill went to work for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 1987. Bill was a charter member of the Mid America Kiwanis Club of Midwest City. He enjoyed playing golf in the Midwest City and Oklahoma City Golf Leagues. He was noted for taking pictures where ever he went as he always had his camera with him.
Bill was preceded in death by his Wife Wilma Maynard; Parents, Fowler and Emily Maynord; Sister Jo Ann Green; Son-In-Law Gene Wilkinson.
He is survived by daughters Jackie Wilkinson and Jovonna Maynard; Son Jerry R. Maynard and wife, Darlene; Sister Mary Dawn Pappe; Sister-in-law, Mary Yvonne Johnson; Grandsons; Jeffery Graves, Billy Maynard, A.J. Johns, Wade Johns and wife Michelle; Granddaughters; Delphina and husband Willie Lloyd, Emily Martinez. Great Grandchildren; Stephen Turner, Jace Johns, Elizabetha Lloyd, Jayon Lloyd and numerous nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, 27 February 2009 at 2:00 PM at Sooner Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Children Miracle Network.
