Ralph Duward Mayfield passed away July 24, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 1 day.
Ralph was the son of Dora E. and Joseph "Bill" Mayfield.
He was raised in the Cheyenne, Oklahoma area and joined the U.S. Army in December of 1946. He served his country in Europe, Italy, Japan and the U.S.
After leaving the service, he moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico.
Ralph was a diesel mechanic most of his life, retiring in Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David Russell.
Ralph is survived by two daughters, Stella Lea Watson and husband, Jimmy of Tucumcari, New Mexico; and Dora Elizabeth Roach and husband, Audie of Clovis, New Mexico; his brothers, Albert Mayfield and wife, Leona Faye; Clifton Mayfield and wife, Mary of Tucumcari, New Mexico; Robert Mayfield and wife, Susan of Mobeetie, Texas; and Kenneth Mayfield and wife, Doreen of Arnett, Oklahoma; one sister, Ollie Ruth Williams and family of Wister, Oklahoma; one grandson, Court Watson and wife, Tanya; three granddaughters, Brittany Watson, Misty Roach, April and husband, Ben; three great grandsons, Jarrett, Teagan and Landry Watson; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
