Michele Elizabeth Mayes

Michele Elizabeth Mayes
April 30, 1976 ~ September 4, 2018

Michele Elizabeth Mayes, 42, of Ochelata, found her eternal peace in her heavenly home on September 4.

Michele was born on April 30, 1976, in Camarillo, CA, to Julie (Young) and Ricky Mayes. She spent her childhood in California, Arkansas and Oklahoma. While residing in Oklahoma, she was raised by her parents, Charlie and Julie Young, and surrounded by a large, loving family. Michele graduated from Caney Valley High School in Ramona in 1994.

Michele had a passion for life, love, family and faith. Her love for Christ and her faith in our Heavenly Father was shared with everyone who knew her. Michele strived to share God's love and change the world to make it a better place which is exactly what she did. Whether she was capturing memories behind her camera, spending time with her family, enjoying her coffee or reading her Bible, the smile we all loved was always there. Her loving servant's heart led her to work in ministry full-time for Billye Brim Ministries.

Michele was blessed with 5 children, Emily Matlock, Samuel Powell, Zachary Powell, Hannah Powell and Ashley Brown. Her love of children led her to be a foster parent for a time. She mothered many children during this time and they all held a special place in her heart, including Kendra Barron with whom she remained close. Michele was proud to be a grandmother, or Elisi, as she was called to Aiden Michael Deviney.

Michele is survived by her parents, Charlie and Julie Young of Ochelata; her children, Emily, Zach, Sam and Ashley and her husband, Billy Brown, of Oklahoma City; sisters, Melissa Lindgren and husband Bill of Bartlesville, Mary Guise of Bartlesville, Melyn Nichols and David of Dewey, Teresa Moland and husband Lawrence of Dewey; brothers, John Mayes and wife Taylor of Ochelata, David Young and wife Jasper of Dewey; grandfather, Roy Riedel, of Greenwood, AR; grandmother, Lillian Mayes, of Camarillo, CA; 10 nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved her very much.

Michele was preceded in death by her daughter, Hannah; her father, Rick; and her grandmother, Jerry Riedel.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 8, at Victory Church, 4601 Nowata Road, in Bartlesville with the Rev. Tim Kutz officiating. Graveside services are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville.

Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.
