Dr. Jerry Ray Maxwell

Dr. Jerry Ray Maxwell
September 10, 1947 ~ April 29, 2023

Dr. Jerry Ray Maxwell, 75, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2023. Jerry was born on September 10, 1947, in Oklahoma City, the son of LaVon and Ray Maxwell.

Jerry graduated from Edmond High School in 1965 and served in the United States Air Force from 1966-70. He earned his undergraduate degree at Central State University and then attended Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, where he earned his doctorate in 1978. He completed residency in Tucker, Georgia and held faculty positions at the Podiatry Institute in Tucker and the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. He then established his practice, Edmond Ankle and Foot, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

In 2001, Jerry met Deana. Jerry and Deana’s blended family resulted in eight grandchildren.

Jerry was a man of many talents and passions. He was a physician, inventor, pilot, guitarist, hunter, golfer, and loving husband, father, brother, and Papa. He loved being outdoors and soaking up the sun, especially while on his boat at the lake.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Lia Maxwell, and Dr. William and LaVon Bond. He is survived by his wife, Deana; his three sons and their families, Adam, Jarrett, and Clayton Maxwell; his three stepchildren and their families: Jeremiah Hall, Tyler Vaughn, and Megan Bale; his three siblings and their families: Greg Maxwell, Pam Goode, and Donald Bond; his puppy, Scout; and a large extended, loving family.

A celebration of life will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond on June 24th at 10:00 AM.
