Raymond Martinez, lifelong resident of Blackwell, passed away on March 9, 2024, in Citrus Heights, CA at the age of 24.
Ray was born in Modesto, CA on May 21,1999 to Melissa R. McPhee and George A. Cisneros. At the age of 9 months, his mother passed, and he was adopted by his maternal grandmother Carol Martinez, which became his lifelong “mom”.
Ray grew up in Blackwell, where he graduated from High School in 2018. After graduation he attended Northern Oklahoma College. He recently obtained his CDL and drove for JB Hunt. “Scoob”, as he was known to many friends, was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved skateboarding, gaming, playing the guitar, singing, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends. As a talented artist, he also enjoyed drawing, painting, and the art of tattooing.
Ray was goofy and loved making people laugh and smile. He was a devoted friend and was always looking out for those he loved. He will be greatly missed in the lives of many.
Ray is survived by his mom, Carol Martinez of Blackwell; siblings, Jessica Hand of Blackwell, Bradley McPhee of Blackwell, Joshua Martinez of Citrus Heights, CA, Rachel Martinez of Galveston, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Melissa R. McPhee.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23rd in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel.
Family visitation will be on Friday evening, March 22nd from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
