We are saddened to announce the passing of Richard "Tiny" Martin. On October 1st, 2020 he ascended from this world while his sons were at his side. Tiny, as he was best known, was born on December 20, 1958 in Durant, OK to Cleo A. and Jean (Bailey) Martin. Tiny was the youngest of the couple's four children.
Through his high school years, he received awards and accolades for his football playing abilities, which he loved and recounted all throughout his life. It was during those years that he gained the ironic nickname "Tiny" as he was quite large and menacing on the field.
During his time on earth, he accomplished many roles. He was a cancer survivor, rancher, farmer, construction worker, vending machine and arcade game maintenance man, truck driver, hunter, fisherman, boatsman, and more. But most importantly to him, he was a father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and a friend.
Tiny is preceded in passing by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Martin.
He is survived by his sister Janice "Yaya" Martin Lankford, his brother Cleo "Cookie" Martin, his sons Cleo W. Martin and Stephen G. Lawrence, his nieces Anita Lankford Williamson, Destiny Harris, Khaliya Phelps, Tina Martin, Lisa Ray (Martin), his nephews Blake Lankford and Mitchell Martin, and many other family members and friends.
During these unprecedented times, there will not be a service held. In lieu, please feel free to share comments and favorite stories of Richard "Tiny" Martin online for others.
Please help celebrate his life as best we can.
My love and prayers to
you all.
Cleo Wayne Martin
