Linda Kay (Jantzen) Martens

Linda Kay (Jantzen) Martens
Jul 22, 1954 ~ Mar 31, 2014

Linda Kay Jantzen Martens arrived on July 22, 1954 and returned home on March 31, 2014.

Linda was the daughter of Earl and Dona (Burdick) Jantzen of Ringwood. Linda made her home in Fairview, OK with husband, John Martens in 1972 and created a beautiful family: Katie Flecher with husband Phillip (Fairview), Hank and wife Kimberly (Keller, TX), and Levi with wife Carolyn (Fairview). The joy of her life was her grandchildren: Katie’s girls: Maggie, Lucie, and Evie. Hank’s children: Adeleine and Max. Linda was an amazing pillar of the community and the foundation of her family. She wore many hats (literally) as a caterer for weddings, a dental assistant, a florist, a community volunteer, and an artist in many mediums; oils, silks, decorating, centerpiece & floral arrangements, cooking, and her collection of roosters. Her talents did not stop with artistry, as she was a full partner in Martens Brothers’ House Movers and truly kept the business in orbit. Her greatest gift was to her grandchildren as she loved them, taught them, and nurtured them. She will continue to watch over her family and guide them when necessary! Linda fought cancer as long as she could.

She is survived by: her husband, children, and grandchildren; her mother, Dona Jantzen with husband Jerry Harman of Ringwood: her sisters Jean Ann French of Mukilteo, WA and Mary Lou Balzer of Garber.

She is preceded in death by her father, Earl Jantzen and sister, Rita Jantzen, also her husband’s parents Henry & Elda Martens and brother-in-law, Matthew.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Marlin Hiett officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is available for Hospice Circle of Love at Pierce Funeral Home (580-227-2233). Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
