James Lynn Marsh

James Lynn Marsh
April 15, 1944 ~ August 30, 2017

James Lynn Marsh, 73, of Durant, Oklahoma, went home to his Heavenly Father August 30, 2017 in Bryan County, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

James Marsh was born in Durant, Oklahoma on April 15, 1944. Jim graduated Durant High School and went on get his Master's Degree at Oklahoma State University. He also served in the United States Air Force for 14 years

James Marsh honored his country proudly while in the United States Air Force.  As a highly-decorated officer he was awarded many times for his diligence service.  He was a Pilot of the B-52 and O2A's during the Vietnam War.  

Jim also choose to give back to his community by serving as an Educator and Principal in Oklahoma and Texas. He was known to follow the "Golden Rule" and was never afraid to address tough situations. He was also proud to work on oil rigs.  Jim was always a hard worker and the epitome of integrity. Those who worked around him would follow his amazing leadership skills and embraced his motivational messages.

Jim's pride and joy are his three beloved daughters, Cathie Lynne Rollings, Jennifer Lynne Mirtes and Christiana Sterling Winters. He had great relationships with his three sons-in-law's, Bert Rollings, Christopher Mirtes and Calvin Winters. He is survived by his former wife and good friend Marilyn Joyce Clark and step son Jacob Austin Marsh and his devoted furry friend Buddy.  Jim had an extreme softness in is heart for his Grand Children Blake Albert Rollings, Faith Lynn Rollings, Devin Elizabeth Kelch and Andrew Robert Dial. He was also blessed with two Great Grand Children, Kiera Eleanor Kelch and Kallie Alisa-Lynne Kelch.  He is also survived by his sister Kaye Shepard. Jim's cousins are Keller Jr. Haynie and wife Jocyle, Bill Haynie, John Haynie and wife Dianne and Lindrith Barnes.  Nephew, Steven Shepard and wife Tonya Shepard and great nephews Spencer and Tyler Shepard. He is proceeded in death by his parents Lynn and Mildred Marsh. Jim leaves his footprint behind in the heart of many others and will be dearly missed.

Join us with a Celebration of Life Ceremony that will be held on September 9, 2017 at Stone Creek Baptist Church, 987 Bryan Dr. Durant, OK 74701 at 1:00pm. Refreshments will be served after at Stone Creek Baptist Church.
