Lewis Glen Manning, 60, of Marietta, OK passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born January 3, 1962 in Loma Linda, CA, the son of Clarence Edward and Dorothy Patricia (Robinson) Manning.
Lewis attended schools in California before moving to Oklahoma with his family. He has been a resident of Love County since 1978. Lewis was a hardworking and dedicated family man. He only held three jobs in his lifetime. He worked for Jack Higgins’ as a ranch hand until his passing, then continued working for Mr. Higgins' grandson for a short time. Lewis then decided to try his hand in the fast-food industry working for Pizza Hut in Ardmore, OK for five years. He then returned to ranch life working for Jim and Bud Lemons. He was a member of the Pentecostal church. When Lewis wasn’t working, he enjoyed relaxing in front of the television watching westerns or Cops, surfing the internet, and listening to the police scanner.
Survivors include his parents, Clarence “Pops” and Dorothy “Maw” Manning of the home; sons, Jamie Wells of Ardmore and Mathew Wells of Ardmore; brother, Danny Manning and wife Francis of Ardmore; sisters, Deanna Smith of Ardmore and Debbie Mueller of Gainesville, TX; Aunt Annie from Thackerville, OK; special sister, Cynthia Whitney of Marietta; six grandchildren, six nephews and numerous cousins.
Lewis is preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.
There will be an informal gathering in memory of Lewis on Friday, March 18 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Marietta.
