Margaret Manners, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, beloved sister, and aunt, passed from this life on Thursday October 26, 2017 at the age of 87. She was born on August 22, 1930 in Durant, Oklahoma to Haskell and Flora Lee (Tussy) Manners, Sr.
Margaret was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene. She was born and raised in Durant, and graduated from Durant High School. Margaret worked for Montgomery Ward Department Store for seven years, Colverts Dairy for 17 years, and as a teller for Durant Bank and Trust, and 1st United Bank for 21 1/2 years. She enjoyed traveling with other seniors, meeting new people, and volunteering at the hospital as a Pink Lady.
Ms. Manners is survived by her brother, Junior Manners and wife Susan of Durant, Oklahoma; niece, Jill Manners-Payne and husband Curtis of Bells, Texas; nephew, Shawn Manners of Sulphur, Oklahoma; niece, Regeina Hope of Anaheim, California; niece, Cathey Hope Renfro of Austin, Texas; nephew, Milton Hope Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; nephew, Wendell Hope of Singapore, China; great-nephew, David Renfro and wife Gena of Bastrop, Texas; great-niece, Sarah Renfro Gill and husband Dennis of San Antonio, Texas; great-nephew, Connor Manners of Sherman, Texas; and great-nephew, Canyon Payne of Bells, Texas.
Ms. Manners was preceded in death by her parents, Haskell and Flora Manners; and sister, Betty Lou Hope.
A church service will be at 10:00 AM Monday October 30th at the First Church of the Nazarene in Durant with Bro. Brent Smith, Bro. John Kinsey, and Skip Robinson officiating.
