Between the hours of seven and eight o'clock, Friday morning, Mrs. Carrie Maltby, wife of W.C. (Winfield Charles) Maltby of Eureka, Kansas, after a lingering illness, departed from this world of care and trials, to sleep the sleep that knows no waking. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Law of the Christian church, and was attended by a circle of sympathizing friends.
The deceased leave a broken-hearted husband and three small and helpless children without a loving mother's care. Being a fond mother and a devoted wife, her taking away has left a vacancy in the family circle which can never be refilled.
Carrie Jane Henry was born February 15, 1870 in Washington County, Kansas and died May 3, 1907 at her home in Eureka, Kansas, age 37 years 22 months and 18 days.
Her afflictions were a complication of diseases, and she was a sufferer from child-hood.
The deceased and family were residents of this community for a number of years, and the bereaved husband and little ones have the sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.
