Michael Stephen Malone, 78, of Ponca City, left this life on June 16, 2021. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK 74601.
Michael was born on June 1, 1943, in San Francisco, CA, to Burl Laverne and Marilyn June (Parrish) Malone. He graduated from Ponca City Senior High School in 1961. After high school, Michael began his career with the Conoco Refinery in Ponca City in 1965, where he worked as a mechanical inspector; later transferring to their refinery in Billings, MT, where he retired in the mid 1990's. He also contracted with ski lodges in Montana as an inspector, as well.
He enjoyed playing the saxophone and clarinet throughout high school and with many bands as a young adult. He married Diane Marie (Dugan) Malone, of Ponca City on December 19, 1964. While still married, they welcomed 3 daughters, (whom he is survived by) Shaun Balman of Edmond, OK, Paige Briggs and her husband, Rustin, of Stillwater, OK and Brook Linder and her husband, Jody, of Ponca City, OK.
He is additionally survived by his grandchildren, Karsyn Tucker and
husband, Bill, of Piedmont, OK, Daltyn Stout, Kenley Patison and Jake
Patison, of Edmond, OK, Conner Guidrey, of Stillwater, OK, Gaige Petty, of
Longmont, CO, Landon Linder and Landrie Linder, of Ponca City, OK;
great-grandchildren, Claire and Gavin Tucker, of Piedmont, OK; brother, Jim
Malone and his wife, Cheryl, of Stillwater, OK;
1 niece; 1 nephew; 2
great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Burl and Marilyn Malone; grandparents, Everett and Zona Malone, Floyd and Mary Elda Parrish and his beloved fur baby, Captain Jack.
