Franklin J. Malone was a caring & loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great Great Grandfather, and brother. Franklin lost his battle with heart disease and passed away on Friday, August 21st in the presence of his family and friends at home.
He is survived by Lois Dee, his wife of 66 years, daughter Sherry Lynn & husband Mike, daughter Donna Grieco & husband Ralph of Colonial Heights, Virginia, grandchildren Tiffany Lynn, Jeffrey Grieco & wife Amy, Lesley Wirt & husband Jonathan, great grandchildren Leigha Graham & husband Steve, Cole Callahan, McKenna & Brennan Grieco, Michael Joseph Wirt, great great grandchildren Damian, Lillian & Celica Graham, and sister Betty Lawson of Great Bend, KS.
He enjoyed a long faithful and fulfilling life. Franklin graduated from Seminole High School, attended Seminole Jr. College until he heeded the call to the Army Air Corp in 1943. Franklin was a pilot in the Pacific Theatre and often reminisced about his many experiences during World War II. Franklin loved being a pilot & was very proud to be in the Army Air Cop & to be an American. He loved his country, family and friends.
Franklin joined Lois Dee in real estate in 1969. They both owned and operated Century 21 Malone's Homes until March 1993. Franklin and Lois Dee both then joined their daughter, Sherry, at Malone's Property Management, Inc. that same month, where he remained until his passing.
Franklin & Lois Dee often visited daughter & son, Donna & Ralph in Virginia. They made many, life long friends there. Franklin was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He was very active in the Optimist Club for many years, President and active member of the Century 21 Brokers Council, 1984 National representative for Century 21 for the Oklahoma region to Washington DC, a member of the Midwest City-Del City-Moore Association of Realtors and served on the Planning Commission in Del City.
He touched so many lives with his love and wisdom. He will be greatly missed. We all are so much richer for having known and loved him. Special thanks to the wonderful care given by nurse, Brenda, and caregivers Crystal & Edy and by the attending Doctors and Nurses at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.
Prayer service & viewing will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Midwest City, Monday, August 24th at 7 PM and funeral services will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
