David Lee Mallory, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Via Christi Village. He was 80 years old. David was born on July 7, 1938 in Alba, Texas to his parents, Claud Mallory and Nathalee (Craver) Mallory.
David and Jane Mallory were married on November 2, 1961 in Dallas, Texas. David starting working for Conoco, which moved them first to Kansas City and then to Ponca City in 1973 where David worked for Conoco until retirement. David enjoyed working with the Lions Club, especially when they worked the OSU football games. He also enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends, long evening drives with Jane and his Fedora hats! He also never missed an opportunity to have his picture taken with everyone he was around.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathalee and Claude, aunt Lou Ragsdale, and his beloved brother in law, Richard Reid.
David is survived by his wife, Jane Mallory of Ponca City, daughter, Cathy Burnett and husband Jason of Ponca City, son, Chris Mallory and wife Lisa of Chicago, Illinois, grandchildren, Gabriella (Bree), Michael, Madison, Taylor, Grant, Christopher Wayne, Jennifer Jane, and great-grandchildren, Kanon and Riot.
Honorary friends: Ken Murphy, Bill Parr, Carroll Dawson, Joel Davis, Gary Richardson, Gary Hibbets, Nick Johnson, Russell Shupe, Charlie Blew, Dick Jacobson, Ray Stevenson, David Lewis, Al Peck, Bob Gray, Bob Craig, Calvin Golliver, Al Gutzman, Seldon Ballard, the Deacon Body of Northeast Baptist Church and its members as well as members of the After Five Lions Club.
A memorial ceremony for David will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Northeast Baptist Church.
At David's request, memorial donations may be made to Northeast Baptist Church, 2200 N. Pecan, Ponca City, OK 74604.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
