Helma Agnes Mallard was born January 1, 1939 in Brücken/Pfalz, Germany. She moved to the United States in August, 1959 where she lived in Guymon, Oklahoma until April, 2020. She worked hard all her life, starting with Bonnie's Kinder Kare and ending with the Guymon Daily Herald until Dec 2019. She loved life by having many wonderful friends, proud for becoming a US Citizen, doing everything for her family, going dancing, visiting friends in the nursing home, having coffee or breakfast with friends, making German food especially her cheesecake, and going to church.
After her stroke on April 11, 2020, she still fought as hard as she could to stay for family and friends. By June, 2020, she began living with her Daughter, Nina Mallard and special family friend, Melissa Radtke who took care of her with assistance of Companion Hospice until her death on June 15, 2021 in Edmond, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Aloys and Alwine Sommer, sisters Gerlinde Sommer, Annette Berger, baby sister Maria, baby brother Josef and nephew Ralph Berger...all of Brücken/Pfalz Germany
She is survived by her Brother Diethelm Sommer of Bartow Fla, and wife Barbara and daughter Connie Schneider plus her greatest accomplishments Daughter Nina Mallard of Edmond OK, Son Earl Mallard Jr of Guymon, OK and special Friend Stephanie McCormick, 8 Grandchildren - Michelle Baker and husband Bobby of Amarillo TX, Nicholas Chand of Ft Worth TX, Zachary Chand and wife Isabel of Ft Drum, NY, Marcus Mallard and wife Leah of Edmond, OK, Phillip Mallard of Guymon Ok, Anthony Mallard and wife Destiny of Guymon OK, Matthew Mallard of Guymon OK, and Bethany Mallard of Albuquerque NM. 16 great Grandchildren - Chand clan: Alexis and Husband Colton Eberl, Isaiah, Emily, Sofia, Atticus, Thaddeus, Ava, Yzekiel, Elijah, Ellyana, and Ira...Mallard Clan - Grayson, Griffin, Piper, Xander, Rowynn.....and 4 Great, Great Grandchildren Declan, twins Kaius and Killian, and Rowan Eberl
In Lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Companion Hospice of Guthrie, OK, St Mary Catholic Church of Guthrie, OK or St Peter's Catholic Church Knights of Columbus of Guymon, OK.
Cremation will be done by Crawford Funeral Home in Edmond OK. A Memorial will be held in Guymon OK at a date and place to be determined.
