Charles David Malcolm, son of Gerald and Maxine Presley Malcolm, passed from this life, November 17, 2018, at the age of 66 years and five days.
David spent his younger years in Stilwell where he attended grade school and high school. After graduating from high school, he attended Ozark Bible College. He also joined Christ in Youth, an organization leading young people to Christ. This group was lead and founded by Bob Stacey. After graduation from college he went to the conservatory of music in St. Louis, Missouri. His whole life was spent in the music field – writing, producing and playing several instruments. After leaving St. Louis, he went to Huntington Beach, California. He ministered at churches there for several years. He also taught music in Orange County, California. From there he went to Las Vegas, Nevada where he spent the rest of his life. Even after being at several churches, he said that the Christian Church in Stilwell would always be his home church.
David was a great athlete. He ran the Boston Marathon twice. He then qualified for the prestigious ws100 Ultra Endurance Race in the High Sierras of California. He finished 97th out of 371 winning a silver buckle.
His mother made him a king-size quilt from some of the tee shirt logos of races he had run.
Dave always had fun herever he went. So did his friends. Once in college, friends Steve Panter and Roger Worsham decided to pay him a visit, so Dave's mom sent him a care package of raisin oatmeal cookies. The friends didn't find Dave right away, so they ate the cookies.
David was a very loving person to the young and old alike. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; grandparents, Estelle Malcolm and Garland and Leona Presley; one brother-in-law, Dalton Arnett.
Survivors include his mother, Maxine of Bixby, a daughter, Kayley; a son, Micah of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Jerry Arnett of Bixby, Ginger Bunch and husband Charles of Sand Springs, aunt, Haldane Gladden of Bixby, uncle, Bill Presley and wife Vina of Stilwell, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held December 8th in Las Vegas.
