Donnie Gene Magers
May 15, 1939 ~ July 14, 2017 (age 78)

Donnie Gene Magers, 78, of Norman passed away Friday, July 14, 2017. Donnie was born on May 15, 1939 in Lexington, OK to James Argie and Edna Magers.

Donnie graduated from Norman High school where he held many football records while playing football for the Tigers. He married Virginia (Grossman) on July 2, 1965 in Oklahoma City, OK and during their life together he loved to fish, go hunting, gardening, boating and skiing. Donnie was also an avid woodworker. Don retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of service.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.

Donnie was survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia; sons: Woody Magers and wife, Judy and Brian Magers and wife, Debbie; daughter, Donna Pappas and husband, Stephen; one Sister, Marnell Odorizzi; Nine Grandchildren: Kim, Keri, Mindy, Chris, Stephanie, Bailey, Alex, Anthony and Zachary; and many other nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.  

The family has placed his care with Havenbrook Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 1:00-8:00 pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home and services to remember Donnie will be on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:30 am at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
