Shirley Ray Magby was born on April 17, 1947, in Valliant, Oklahoma to Shelby and Betty (O’Bannon) Magby. Ray passed away on September 23, 2023, at his home at the age of 76. Ray graduated from Valliant high school and worked as a brick layer and construction. He moved to Bryan County in 1987 and later married Wanda Burgess on July 23, 1988, in Durant, Oklahoma. Ray was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed playing the guitar, going deer hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents Shelby and Betty Magby and brothers Stanley Clarence Magby and Jerry Magby.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Wanda Magby of the home; sister Judy Geeding of Troy, Missouri; sister Wendy Haesemeyer and husband Robin of Blackburn, Missouri; daughter Misty Cress and husband Troy of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter Jennifer Harwood and husband Mark of Valliant, Oklahoma; son Stanley Magby of Valliant, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ray was cremated according to his wishes and the family will plan a celebration of his life at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
