Tommy Dale Lynch, 67, of Dewey, died Wednesday in Tulsa.
Tommy was born the son of Alvin Dewayne and Lorena May (Thornbrough) Lynch on March 30, 1949, in Bartlesville. After graduating from College High in 1967 he volunteered for military service during the Vietnam War. Tommy served during the TET offensive and was a combat engineer, building landing zones. After his honorable discharge in 1969, Tommy returned home to Bartlesville.
Tommy was wild, carefree and had no sense of time, mostly just living in the moment. He met the love of his life Gina Briggs at his brother's house where Buffalo Dale (Lewis) introduced them to each other. Inseparable ever since, Tommy and Gina married on November 10, 1979, in Bartlesville. Tommy was a good provider and through the years worked for Doug Scott Concrete, UPS for 11 years and at Water Products in Owasso for 10 years. He kept busy in the past several years working with his brother Jerry in carpentry.
When Tommy's family was asked about his passions in life they responded, "crappie fishing". It's what he loved to do. He was very close to his brothers, his boys were his best friends, and his friends were like family. He loved to help whenever they had a need but he was going to do it his way. Tommy was an avid fan of Oklahoma University (OU) sports and the New York Yankees. Every spring he planted his garden and although he didn't tend to it like he wanted, he was proud of what came out of it. Tommy was bigger than life and will be dearly missed in an equally big way.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife Gina of the home; father Alvin Lynch and Jean of Bartlesville; five sons, Justin Lynch and Reagan of Prosper, TX, Stephen Lynch of Moore, OK, Thurman Lynch and Jamie of Moore, Bradley Briggs and Sara of Pearl City, Hawaii, and Mike Rodriguez and Stephanie of Owasso, OK; three brothers Allen Lynch of Bartlesville, Jerry Lynch of Copan, and Randy Lynch; and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother "Sweetie".
Tommy's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Saturday, September 3, from 4-5:30 p.m.
