Jon Dean Lyle

Jon Dean Lyle
December 19, 1962 ~ February 18, 2023

The magic of living brought much joy and laughter to many as Jon Dean Lyle, known to many as “Magic Jon,” or “TheNoj,” lived to thrill audiences everywhere with comedy and the magic of illusion. He was born on December 19, 1962 in Madison, South Dakota and was adopted by Donald and Maxine Lyle. As a child, he was fascinated with the performances of many professional magicians and quickly learned the fine art of entertaining many; eventually winning several awards in sleight-of-hand magic. After opening for top entertainers, he enlisted into the United States Army as a Scout Cavalry, our front line of the US Army defense and during his enlistment, he brought laughter to many of his comrades in difficult times. His life was shared with his bride of 13 years, Katie Ballew-Lyle and, together, they continued to entertain audiences with comedy and dynamic magic bringing much joy, laughter and tears to many. Jon “lived for the pleasure of bringing smiles to others.”

Early in the morning of February 18, 2023, Jon Dean Lyle quietly went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Maxine Lyle, his first wife, Robin Lyle and son, Joshua Lyle. He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Wallender-Ballew); daughter, Brianna Lyle (Huntsville); son, Eric Montbleau (Brookshire); daughter, Emma Kate Lyle (Tombstone) and 13 grandchildren.

Jon, you taught us that life is more than just magic, it is truly about living a life loving those around you. You will always remain in our hearts. We will all miss you.

Memorial Services for Jon will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watonga Christian Church with Pastor Adam Lovitt officiating and Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
