Celebration of life services for Alan Duane Lyda, 59, Enid resident, will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 29, 2021 in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Nathan Oney, Senior Pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Alan was born on March 30, 1961 in Enid, the son of Duane Henry and Thata Faye Demoss Lyda, and passed away at his residence on January 19, 2021. Alan attended North Enid Elementary, Carrier Junior High School, and graduated from Chisholm High School with the class of 1979. He attended SWOSU as a voice major from 1979 to 1981.
Alan married Susan Denton on July 28, 1984 and made Enid their home. Alan was very involved with singing from junior high in to college. He sang in the Cross Town Harmony Quartet and was involved with the Enid Chapter of Barbershoppers. He also sang in the church choirs of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Willow View United Methodist Church and New Hope United Methodist Church.
Alan is survived by his children, Jess Lyda and wife Kenze, Rachel Lyda and husband Kyle Gamble, eight grandchildren, sister, Jana Moehle and husband Michael, one nephew and two nieces.
Alan was preceded in passing by his parents, Duane and Theta Lyda.
