Betty Ann (Rice) Lundy

July 17, 1940 ~ March 23, 2005

A visitation will be held Monday, March 28th , 2:00-8:00 p.m. and a graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 29th , at 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd.

Betty was born in Venita, Oklahoma, on July 17, 1940 and moved to Bakersfield, CA, in 1946. She was suddenly taken from us on March 23, 2005. She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lundy, her son, Everett Wilbur Lundy III and her mother, Nyoma Faye Rice. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Rose Carey; son-in-law, Gerald Carey; son, Victor Allan Lundy; daughter-in-law, Melody Lundy; granddaughters, Angel Raivyn Moore, Eryn Nyoma Carey, Cheyanne Ray Carey; and grandsons, Nicholas LeStat Lundy and Damien Hunter Lundy. She is also survived by her father, Daniel Douglas Rice; brothers, Robert Charles Rice, Jonathan Daniel Rice; sister, Karen Sue Drennan and many, many friends.

Betty Ann was a kind, gentle and caring woman. She had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Jobs Daughters Bethel #127. Her passion was sewing, handcrafts and collecting dolphins. She took great pride in her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her father. She worked for Toll House Ranch for the past 11 years.

We cherish our many memories with her. We believe in our hearts that she is safe with our Lord in Heaven and has been reunited with other family members that have gone before her. Although her time on earth with us was short, she will live on in our hearts forever. She will be greatly missed.

Our family would like to thank our many friends for their thoughts and prayers in our time of sorrow. We owe a special debt of gratitude to Milton Rudnick, her employer. We cannot begin to thank everyone enough. Everyones generosity has overwhelmed us.

The Colors of Life

It rained when my grandmother left us
Later, it showed a beautiful new beginning
By the colors of the rainbow.
So now when I look to the heavens,
My grandmother will show me,
The colors of her new life.
The Rainbow.

Love,
Your Granddaughter,
Angel Raivyn
