David (Dave) Martin Luis
January 24, 1958 - October 31, 2016

David (Dave) Martin Luis, longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away on October 31, 2016, on his favorite holiday, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 58.

A ceremony to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Howard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

David was born on January 24, 1958 to Joseph A. Luis and Marie M. Luis in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Dave was raised in Marland, Oklahoma and graduated from Marland High School in 1976.

On November 25, 1977, David married the love of his life, Pamela Ann Meadows and they made their home in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Dave worked as a production supervisor at Conoco/Phillips. Selflessness described Dave and his greatest joys came from caring for his treasured family and friends. He was known for his sarcastic comments and often lightening the mood just to get them to smile. If you knew Dave, you knew that his family was his entire world.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Pam of the home, cherished children, Randi Higgins and husband Jackie of Ponca City, Tori Stafford and husband Matt of Ponca City, Kodi Luis and Todd Schmidt of Edwardsville, IL, Joey Mather and husband Cody of Ponca City and Gage Luis and Alicia Hernandez of Stillwater, Ok; adored grandchildren: Kelbi and Ayceton Higgins, Mallorie and Madelyn Stafford and Emily, Kyle and Connor Schmidt and many dear siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patty.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friend or take a walk for a moment, an hour or a day. Time waits for no one.
