The memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Evelyn Kay Lozier, 75, of Enid, will be held November 30, 2024 in the Community Bible Church near Green Valley.
Born on July 22, 1949, in Enid, Oklahoma, Evelyn was the second of fourteen children to Paul and Elizabeth Unruh. She went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2024, in Enid, Oklahoma.
Evelyn was raised in Enid, where she attended Covington High School, graduating with the class of 1967. She continued her studies at Enid Business College, focusing on accounting. On June 27, 1971, she married Claude Lozier in Enid. Evelyn worked at George E. Failing Company until the arrival of her first child, after which she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother until her children were older.
She later took on the role of secretary at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church, serving faithfully for over a decade until her retirement in 2012. Evelyn found great joy in leading the seniors’ group, known as Best Years Fellowship (BYF), organizing monthly gatherings, meals, and excursions, fostering a strong sense of community. In later years, she became a cherished member of Grace Bible Church, while also attending Chisolm Trail Cowboy Church. Her creative talents were evident in her love for sewing and crafting homemade cards, while her playful spirit shone during her weekly Putt-Putt golf games, competing as one of the "Swinging Putterz." Above all, Evelyn cherished time spent with her family.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Claude Lozier, of the home; her daughter, Jacque Lozier, and grandson, Zane, of Poteau, Oklahoma; her son, John Lozier, and his wife, Lanee, along with their children, Hayden and Preslee, of Cleburne, Texas. She also leaves behind her siblings: Alice and her husband, Larry Miller; Anita Hatfield; Keith Unruh; Carol Snowden; and Eric and his wife, Lori Unruh, all of Enid. Additional surviving siblings include Lois and her husband, James Grimshaw, of Bossier City, Louisiana; Clifford and his wife, Anna Unruh, of Ward, Arkansas; Teresa Butler, of Owasso, Oklahoma; and Naomi Cain, of Hokes Bluff, Alabama.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elizabeth Unruh, as well as her siblings, Earnest Unruh, Randy Unruh, Jimmy Joe Unruh, and Zella Klucas.
Evelyn’s life was a testament to her faith, love of family, and her commitment to serving others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
