Lovett, Erma Jewell was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on October 8, 1919. Her parents were Robert and Julia Holmes. She married John R. Lovett in 1948. She resided in Arkoma, Oklahoma until November 2010 when she moved to Norman to be close to family.
Mrs. Lovett was a homemaker and an employee of the Boston Store in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a life long member of the Democratic Party and for over sixty years a member of the First Baptist Church of Arkoma.
Mrs. Lovett is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 32 years, siblings Essie, Alvis, James, Robert and Orval.
She is survived by her daughter Jan Kerlin of Florida, son John R. Lovett Jr. and daughter-in-law Mary Ann of Norman, granddaughter Amy Beth Kerlin of Florida; grandson John Ransom Lovett of Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 200 Sicard Ave., Arkoma, Oklahoma with interment following in the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be John Ransom Lovett, Dr. Thomas Singer, Jeff Shackelford, David Shackelford, Eddie Freeman and Doug Harrold. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Harrold, Othel Harrison and Charles Overstreet.
Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
