Sharon Lorenz of Enid, Oklahoma passed away on March 5, 2022, in Newkirk, Oklahoma after her long hard-fought battle with cancer at the age of 73. The people who cared for her saw her fight with everything she had and did so with grace, optimism and her electric charm. Every time we escorted Ms. Lorenz to an appointment or ran an errand with her, everyone was smiling at her, happy to see her and just loved talking with her. She will be truly missed by many.
Sharon was born Sharon Ann Diehl in Yale, Oklahoma to her parents Louis and James Diehl. At the age of 9, her family moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma where she lived until she graduated high school. As an adult, Sharon travelled a lot and enjoyed seeing the sights when she wasn’t working. During her childhood, her favorite place to go was Fairfax, Oklahoma where her Grandma Marie and Grandpa Clyde Reddick lived. Of all the memories she shared with us over the years, Fairfax was her all-time favorite place and always will be. She spoke many times about the lake and how she loved to fish or take long walks around the lake with her dog. She was a great fisherwoman, always seemed to catch the biggest or the most no matter where she went or who she went with. Along with fishing, Sharon also enjoyed music, dancing, playing games online and taking care of the many pets she had over the years. It was not uncommon to see Sharon dancing if there was music playing. In her later years, she enjoyed taking care of her Peonies and other beautiful flowers in her flowerbed. Sharon always wanted to see the beauty in nature.
She is survived by her only child, Michael Spiva Sr and his wife Ericka Spiva. Grandchildren include Dewey & Valerie Homan of Claremore, Oklahoma, Michael Spiva Jr & Kindra Silvey of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Degn Spiva of Blackwell.
