Barney Guy Lorenz

October 1, 1960 ~ January 19, 2016

Barney Guy Lorenz departed this life on January 19, 2016. Barney was born on October 1, 1960 in Ardmore, OK to Patricia and Billy Geroge Lorenz.

Barney moved to Cushing then to Kingfisher before moving to Okeene, OK in 1962.

He graduated from Okeene High School in 1978, then went to Okmulgee to study auto mechanics.

Barney married Mary Kthleen Schaefer in Ketchum, OK on March 18, 1983.

Barney joined Okeene EMS and worked as an EMT for many years.

In November 1991, Barney and Kathy adopted April.

Barney enjoyed working the family farm along with doing custom swathing and bailing. He also worked at Diamondback Correctional Facility in Watonga, OK.

In December 2014, Barney had his first granddaughter, Cheyenne Rose McCollum.

Barney was preceded in death by his father, Billy George Lorenz.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Lorenz, of Okeene; his wife, Mary Kathleen, of the home; sister Robin Lorenz and Kevin Roth of Birmingham, Alabama; one daughter, April (Daniel) McCollum, of Okeene; one son, Robert Lorenz and wife Ashley, of Tulsa, OK; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Rose McCollum; and aunts and Uncles.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist church in Okeene on Jan. 24, 2016.
