Gerardo Gabriel Heliodoro Lopez

Gerardo Gabriel Heliodoro Lopez
July 09, 2005 ~ July 02, 2020

Gerardo Gabriel Heliodoro Lopez, 14, of Guthrie, OK was born July 9, 2005 in San Antonio, TX to Gerardo Gabriel and Monica (Bautista) Lopez. He passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 in Guthrie.

Gerardo loved to approach people who were often alone or not very popular. He would go up to them and try to get a smile or just sit with them and talk to them. He didn’t want any kid to go without a friend. Gerardo would break the ice with strangers and didn’t care who they were because he wanted to know everyone.

He found a love for music the last couple of years and started playing the piano and keyboard by ear. Gerardo played mostly classical music. He would go almost every night to take his neighbors, Don and Sandy Leach with a hot meal and to play piano for them.

The future was often on his mind. He wanted to be in the healthcare field like his parents. Gerardo wanted to be a great jujitsu practitioner. He also wanted to see the world all at once!

When he could, he loved to tutor kids of close family friends in reading and writing.

Gerardo would try ANYTHING once and I mean anything. He was a free spirit. He would always do whatever he believed was right.

He was talented, brilliant, and funny and a good friend to others and was a best friend to his brother, Nicholas. He alway knew how to make people laugh.

Gerardo is served by his parents, Gerardo and Monica of the home in Guthrie and his brother, Nicholas also of Guthrie.

Memorial services to celebrate Gerardo’s life will be held at Noon, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at The Guthrie Depot located at 409 West Oklahoma Avenue. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

There will not be any visitation.
