November 9, 1926 ~ April 6, 2020 (age 93)

Longtime resident of Hammon, OK, Mrs. Virginia Katherine Long passed from this life on April 6, 2020 at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 28 days in Hammon, OK. Virginia was born to her parents Aden and Lucille (Ryan) Page November 9, 1926 in Moorewood, OK.

Virginia was the true blue farmer's wife. She loved her occupation as a homemaker and help mate to her husband. She and Neil were married November 15, 1945 in Wheeler, TX. Virginia enjoyed hosting her family for holidays, birthdays and Sunday dinners. She was a wonderful seamstress as well, making her children's clothes for school gave her great satisfaction. Virginia also enjoyed attending the Hammon High School basketball games, cheering on her team to victory. Vacation time was another highlight in Virginia's life. She looked forward to that special family time each year.

Although Virginia is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include her 3 daughters: Janis Flick of Elk City, OK, Mavis and husband Dean Collins of Hammon, OK, Arlie and husband Johnny Robbins of Hammon, OK; 1 brother: Jimmy and wife Linda Page of Hammon, OK; 3 sisters: Lawanna Jenkins of Lawton, OK, Eunice and husband Andy Hall of Elk City, OK, Sue Hinkey of Wahalla, SC; 7 grandchildren: Brian and wife Dixie Collins of Snyder, OK, Philip and wife Dana Collins of Guymon, OK, Katherine Bennett of Elk City, OK, Ryan Flick of Elk City, OK, Jeremy and wife Amy Robbins of Hammon, OK, Maggie and husband Grant Miller of Elk City, OK, Tony Robbins of Hammon, OK; 13 great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives, longtime friends and neighbors.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Neil Long, 1 infant son, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2020 and Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City, OK. A private family burial will be officiated by her grandson Philip Collins.
