Nelma Jean (Hilyard) Long
March 12, 1932 ~ May 16, 2014

Nelma Jean Long, 82, formerly of Bartlesville, was received by her Lord and Savior of May 16, 2014 at the North County Nursing Home in Collinsville, Oklahoma.

Memorial services for Mrs. Long will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rene Colaw officiating. Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Nelma was born in Cushing, OK to Eugene and Bessie Hilyard on March 12, 1932. She lived her entire childhood and teenage years in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School in 1950. She moved to Bartlesville in 1956 and lived there until 2005. Between 1956 and 2005 Nelma lived and worked in Bartlesville at P & S Engineering Company and the Bartlesville Red Cross before retiring in 2000. She was married to Bob Riley and later to Bob Rickman who preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Vernon Long who preceded her in death in 2005, after which she moved to Cushing to make her home. In 2008 after developing health problems, Nelma moved to the North County Nursing Home in Collinsville, Okla., where she lived in recent years and was fondly thought of by the residents and staff. During her adult life she was mother to many children, loved her family and got great joy from telling stories about all of them. She loved to cook and dance for her large family.

Mrs. Long is survived by her children, Mark Riley and wife Tina of Coffeyville, Kansas, Larry Riley of Tennessee, Jim Riley and wife Debbie of Collinsville, Joe Riley and wife Lenete of Oklahoma City, Tony Rickman and wife Judy of Bartlesville, Mary Lou Anderson and husband Larry of Bartlesville, Bruce Rickman and wife Diane of Dewey, Floyd Long and his wife Alice and David Long and his wife Sarah all of Tulsa. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that all have many loving memories of her. She is also survived by a brother, Johnny Hilyard and wife Cheryl of Cushing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Glenn Hilyard and two husbands.
