Cleta Mae (Clements) Long

Cleta Mae (Clements) Long
March 9, 1928 ~ July 16, 2022

Cleta was born on March 9, 1928 — the daughter of Carroll C. and Gertrude (Owens) Clements.

When she was rather young, the family moved to New Mexico where she received much of her early schooling. Later, they moved to Southwest City, Mo., where she graduated from high school.

She married James Long on March 25, 1951, and they cared for and loved one another through 67 years of marriage until his passing in June 2018. They were faithful, loving, and God-filled parents to Karen, Randy, and Brette.

Cleta was employed in the banking profession for 27 years, and at the time of her retirement was an officer of First National Bank of Enid. She was a member of the Baptist Church for many years, serving in multiple capacities from children's ministry to adult Sunday School teacher. At the time of her death, she was a member of Life Fellowship Church of Pryor, although her faithful attendance was interrupted by her move to Tulsa in 2018.

She enjoyed reading, loved music (especially gospel), was a self-described yellow-dog Democrat, and had a fondness for online research regarding subjects that interested her (and everything interested her). She was proud of her children for their accomplishments, but most of all she valued their love of their Lord and God. She loved family get-togethers and the laughter and affectionate ribbing that invariably accompanied anytime the family gathered.

Her love language was service to family and friends, and family gatherings always included her home-cooked comfort food and especially prize-worthy pies and cakes.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Jack Morton) of Tulsa, Randy (Lori) of Enid, and Brette of Tulsa; also, Karen and Jack's daughter and granddaughter: Jamie and Addyson Angel of Jenks, Randy and Lori's daughters: Katy of Oklahoma City and Emily of Los Angeles, California; brother, Fred Clements of Tulsa; sister, Jane Miller of Claremore; special nephew, Clark Fowler of Fayetteville, Arkansas; as well as other wonderful nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband, parents, two brothers, four sisters, and five half-sisters and brothers.

Cleta Mae Clements Long passed from this earth July 16th, 2022, where she had been surrounded by her family every minute of her magnificent journey home.

Family will meet for informal remembrance. No other gatherings are planned.
