Evelyn Loman, age 90, of Shawnee, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Oklahoma City.
Evelyn was born on October 2, 1934, in Trousdale, OK, to Lanta Judy and Gladys (Parrish) Judy. She grew up in Wanette, OK, where she played basketball through high school, and continued her love of sports throughout her life, including golfing and bowling.
She met and married the love of her life, Don Loman, when she was in her early twenties, committing her life to him when she was 22 years old. They spent many of their weekends fishing, golfing, and especially enjoyed competitive card playing with their best friends, Donnie and Barbara Mikish.
Don and Evelyn went on many fun trips in their converted bus. Together they started Loman Drilling and made it a very successful business.
Mom was one of the strongest women we knew. She was a devoted caretaker to her husband and their relationship complemented one another. The love they shared was unprecedented. Evelyn loved the Lord, and we know her and Dad are having a wonderful reunion.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lanta and Gladys; her loving husband, Don; son, Greg Loman; brothers, Harold Judy and Ralph Judy; and sisters, Loretta Judy and Mary Judy.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Becky Baggett (Jeff), and Tina King (Wayne); sister, Catherine Doshier; sister-in-law, Millie Hodde; grandchildren, Tyler Loman (Denise Nadolski), Justin Loman, Neil King, Tim King, Matt Baggett (Lindsey); and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers who have spent their time caring for Evelyn, with a very special thank you to Betty Minson, who was devoted to caring for Evelyn for several years.
A memorial service for Evelyn will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Rock Creek Baptist Church, 44900 Hardesty Rd, Shawnee, OK.
