Donald “Don” Gene Loman, 87, of Shawnee passed away July 28, 2023. He was born September 22, 1935 in McLoud to Henry and Bonnetta Loman.
Don was a special person who was loved by all his family and close friends. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and wood working. He built several pieces of furniture in his own home and his children’s homes. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army. He started and ran Loman Drilling for many years and has now been passed down to the third generation. He and his wife, Evie were long time members of South Rock Creek Baptist Church where Don was very involved and taught Sunday School.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Evelyn “Evie” Loman; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Jeff Baggett, and Tina and Wayne King; grandchildren: Justin Loman, Tyler Loman (Denise Nadolski), Matthew Baggett (Lindsey), Neil King (Caitlin), and Timmy King; great grandchildren: Connor and Charlie Baggett, Ariel, Layla, Estella, and Scarlett King, and Zoe King; sister, Mildred Hodde; daughter-in-law, Susie Loman-Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Greg Loman; parents, Henry and Bonnetta Loman; brother, Darrell Loman; and sister, Wanda Washburn.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at South Rock Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Napier officiating.
