Aldeen N (DeVolld) Lohman

Aldeen N. Lohman, 96, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday Nov. 21, 2010 at Sterling House in Bartlesville.

Services will be held at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dale P. Scott officiating. Mrs. Lohman will lie in state at the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. She will be buried at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Kansas next to her husband.

Mrs. Lohman was born January 21, 1914 in Emmett, Kansas to Claud and Millie (Gideon) DeVolld. She was raised and received her elementary and high school education in Emmett. She received a degree in typing and shorthand. Mrs. Lohman moved to Oskaloosa to live with her sister, Edythe Smith. She started working as a Secretary to the County Attorney of Jefferson County, Oskaloosa. She met William S. Lohman, who had graduated from the Kansas University. They were married on February 15, l941. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas where Mr. Lohman was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. At that time Mrs. Lohman was employed for a law firm, Cudahy Packing Co. and R. B. Jones Insurance as a secretary. They moved to Bartlesville where Mr. Lohman continued his work with Phillips Petroleum Co. until his death in l971. Mrs. Lohman belonged to the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, enjoyed playing golf with the Adams Women's Golf League. She belonged to the Elk's Lodge. She was an avid bridge player and joined many bridge clubs. On a daily basis she loved to go for a walk and did this for many years.

Survivors include her niece, Norma Eastman of Iowa, her brother-in-law and wife, Ron and Linda Lohman of California and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Weidman, California.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Lohman, sister, Hetty Belle Danielson, sister, Edythe M. Smith, sister, Susie Newman and a brother, Bill DeVolld.

"May the Lord, Mighty God, bless and keep you forever. Grant you Peace, Perfect Peace, Courage in every endeavor. Lift up your eyes and see his grace forever. May the Lord, Mighty God, bless and keep you forever."

A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution may do so to the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 801 SE Washington Blvd, Bartlesville. Ok 74006. Funeral services for Mrs. Lohman will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dale P. Scott of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church will preside over the services.

Funeral services are under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
