James Anderson Logan, Jr. was born March 13, 1923 to James Anderson and Irma Neoma Logan in the community of Rhea, Oklahoma.
The family later established businesses and permanent residence in Leedey, Oklahoma where James grew up among lifelong and much beloved friends and community.
After completing high school, James joined the Air Force and was trained as a pilot in World War II.
Following the war, James attended Oklahoma A&M graduating with a degree in geology in 1950.
It was while attending college that James began dating, then married a hometown girl, Betty Ann McFarland. The couple made their home in Leedey, raising family and actively participating in their native community. James' devotion to his community and church remained with him throughout his life.
James followed his wife of 61 years, Betty, to the end of this life's journey on September 17, 2008. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2008.
James is survived by his children, Edward Anderson Logan and Susan Gay Logan, both of Oklahoma City; his sister, Joyce Covey of Butler; and her children, James Covey and Donna Roper; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Jim Fields of Oklahoma City; and their children, Kenneth, Pamela and Tamara.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and affection to the staff of Dr. Stephen Hamilton and Trinity hospice services.
